Used to let time wash by.
We'd walk down to the sea,
All the while laughing with glee.
And while sitting on the shore,
We'd talk for an hour or more.
There was nothing we couldn't say, Sometimes it was just a simple, "Hey".
And in the silence we'd sit and stare, Without a thought, worry or care.
Now we struggle to find the time
For a simple game or rhyme.
We hardly have time for the sea,
Let alone me for her or her for me.
Though, we still manage to laugh a lot.
